LMU’s Career & Professional Development (CPD) operates the Summer Internship Funding program to support Lions pursuing unpaid or underpaid internships that may not have been otherwise feasible.
Despite limitations relating to COVID-19, CPD was able to assist 56 LMU students in fulfilling their internship experiences. Awardees received assistance ranging from registration fees and professional clothing to airfare and rent. CPD also covered the cost of summer course registration and taxes for international students who receive the award.
Why We Need Your Help
Over 95% of incoming first-year students each year indicate that they intend to complete at least one internship as part of their LMU experience. An internship is a transformative educational experience and we want to make sure all LMU students have the ability to pursue one. Although we were able to provide 56 Lions with funding last year, not all of those Lions received the full funding of $2,500.
What Your Gift Can Do
Our goal this year is to support 60 students and fulfill as many requests of full funding as possible. Your gift today can be the difference between partial and full funding for LMU students trying to go above and beyond in their LMU experience.
Help us meet our goal of $20,000 and help further the professional journeys of our ambitious Lions by making your gift today!
